Arthur Pryor (ca. 1869-1942) was one of the most versatile and famous musicians of the early twentieth century.

In 1903, after serving as trombone soloist and assistant conductor for John Philip Sousa, Pryor organized his own first-class concert bands and shortly thereafter became an annual summer attraction at New Jersey's seaside resort and community Asbury Park.

This collection features 25 of Pryor's greatest recordings, made for the Victor company between 1903 and 1913.  The selections are programmed to simulate two typical band concerts, as you might have heard them, while enjoying ocean breezes coming off the Jersey shore.
